Description: This file was created to delineate the exterior boundary of the KU Field Station tract known as the “Medicinal Plant Garden.” The file was created on January 8, 2012 by W. Dean Kettle and Jorgina Ross of the Kansas Biological Survey. The file was digitized on-screen using 2010 NAIP imagery. The four corners of the garden could be seen, roughly, by looking at the area that had been managed and the new fence that was installed. The east boundary of the garden was set as the west edge of the county road. The actual boundary will be slightly different that that provided, but accuracy is thought to be within a few feet. This area was established in 2010, in response to the need for a site for a research grant on medicinal plants, and for other research projects and activities.

Description: This file was created to delineate the exterior boundary of the KU Field Station tract known as “Oakridge.” The file was created on January 8, 2012 by W. Dean Kettle and Jorgina Ross of the Kansas Biological Survey. The file was digitized on-screen using existing shapefile for the exterior boundary of the Robinson Tract, as the Oakridge area had three common sides with the Robinson Tract. Oakridge was acquired by the KU Endowment Association in 2011, and subsequently made part of the KU Field Station. The site encompasses about 8 acres, and was where Charles and Sara Robinson build their home, known as Oakridge, circa 1865-1870. Charles Robinson was the first Governor of Kansas.
