Description: This file was created to delineate the exterior boundary of the KU Field Station tract known as “Oakridge.” The file was created on January 8, 2012 by W. Dean Kettle and Jorgina Ross of the Kansas Biological Survey. The file was digitized on-screen using existing shapefile for the exterior boundary of the Robinson Tract, as the Oakridge area had three common sides with the Robinson Tract. Oakridge was acquired by the KU Endowment Association in 2011, and subsequently made part of the KU Field Station. The site encompasses about 8 acres, and was where Charles and Sara Robinson build their home, known as Oakridge, circa 1865-1870. Charles Robinson was the first Governor of Kansas.
