Service Description: Water surface elevations listed for federal reservoirs are based on the normal operating water level ("conservation" or "multi-purpose" pool) as determined by the the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers or the U. S. Bureau or Reclamation. Water levels for state and local reservoirs are based on the water surface elevation as determined by the Kansas Biological Survey on the date of that reservoir's bathymetric survey. All reservoir areas, volume and shoreline lengths are based on these water surface elevations.
